Run-in with Clash The Disco Kids !

If you're looking to spend a Friday night relaxing
with a cup of coffee sitting at your local Starbucks
staring at your blank laptop screen because you
forgot that you need to pay for wifi access and
have nothing better to do and everybody else
is too lazy to do anything with you because they
have their own things to do and .....................

Not here.

Today I bring to you a trio hailing from Singapore ... This is what I call no nonsense electro sound.

Presenting:

If you didn't know already, they are...

DJ Weili

DJ Itchi

& DJ Kurt

How do you guys organize yourselves on stage? Must get insanely crowded when you guys play live !

Well usually, two of us will be on the decks, playing against each other, doing mashup mix, while the other guy will handles the effects and acapellas stuff, and once in a while do the e-MCeeing.

What inspired you guys to develop an electro touch?

Its that huge energy of the electro synth sounds that drive us mad. We like hard pounding, rave sounds as well!

Are there any other artists that you collaborate with?

Yes, Inquisitive, he's a 3 times Technics DMC Champion of Singapore, and formerly ranked no.4 in the World. Nowadays, we often play together in our gigs.

Do you plan to start playing shows in Europe and America?

Yes of coz, why not. Well, we actually had a gig in London last year, and we're still looking for more Europe dates this year.

If you could describe what a party with Clash The Disco Kids would be like, what would you say ?

INSANE. PARTY TILL YA DROP

What was your most memorable night? Any interesting stories?
Yeah, our macbook crashed on us during the peak hour of our set. And the club went completely silent. Haha checkout the facial reaction from the crowd.....

Are there any talks of releasing an EP any time soon?

We're still working on it. So most probably by end of this year, we shall release an EP.

Any new remixes/tracks that you are currently working on?

Yeah, we're working on original materials. Not so much remixes, but some edits which we usually do for our DJ set.

Where do you see yourselves around this time next year? What do you hope to have achieved?

More gigs around US and Europe. Hope that it'll happen.

I couldn't help but ask ... What was the deal with the signs at BitchFight's 1st anniversary gig?

Well, that's the idea from the club owner. Most probably it's just for the sake of fun.

What are some of the positives that you are witnessing in the music world today?

People tends to buy more digital music nowadays, and music is easily accessible from everywhere.

and the negatives?

Vinyl are dying. We still prefer to play vinyl, seriously, as sounds quality are much better and at least it won't crash on us like what the macbook did . :P

Do you feel that you guys are on the right road to make the difference?

Yes of course :)

lastly ...
Any shoutouts to the world?

thanks for the interview. Hope to play in your country soon!
