Why do you call yourselves Sexual Earthquake in Kobe?

Tyler: We needed to have the coolest name in the world because we really sucked musically, here it is! Charly : Yes it's true and do you call a cat a cat? No, you give a name to it. Mine is called Spaïky.

What influences your style?

Myd : Cats playing with a little piece of Brie cheese. Or a girl squirting cola. Tyler: The city, cats that can be friends with dogs. Charly: The music i'm listening to everyday and everynight and priests who play it on the organ.

How would you classify your music?

Myd : 2 years ago, we loved to call ourselves "Dance Punk" but I heard this name in a hype magazine, so must find a new word...maybe Mexican Dance ?
Tyler : Mexican Dance for Children
Charly : and why not Children Music for the Mexicans?



What is Sexual Earthquake in Kobe up to at the moment?
Tyler : Right now? It's like a mutant in a cocoon I think. Lots of possibilities to explore and a big impact on the world when it will be ready.
Charly : It's a little bit abstract Tyler! You watched too much sci-fi!





Do you have any new tracks on the way? is "Crinière De Lion" your first released work?

Myd : Yeah it's our first official release. For the moment we are producing a new track "Offshore The World". With exclusives remixes ! Haha, but it's a secret for the moment ! Charly : We are composing some new stuffs too. We are bored with the past. The future is our friend!

How goes the tour? Describe an epic story that you guys have encountered during your touring journey.

Charly : We saw a guy with a strange cat around his neck. Oops I'm saying too much. We have tasted the best pasta in the world at Enrico's in Milan. What else?


What is your most memorable show by far?

Myd : 100 people on stage in a crazy party in Belgium !
Charly : And probably something like 700 in front. We sometimes played in really cool clubs. I remember a show in Poznan, Poland, the audience there was fucking crazy, at the beginning of the gig, there was nobody in front of us, and then some people came down and went totally crazy, it was awesome.

How do you like The Toxic Avenger's remix of Dance Music? (Love With Chloe Sevigny)

Myd : I love it like an old wife making good lasagnes. Old and hot. Charly : Yes, people could say it's a lil bit old fashioned but actually it's hot and still makes my dick really hard.


What do you guys have planned for the rest of 2009?

Charly : A lot of shows, to go as far as we can go, we really want to travel, and meet new people. That's why we do that. To share great things with some ones. We want to work harder our live set too. We are on a good way. and at the end of the year we'll think harder, better, stronger about a full length record... Tyler : Yeah a full length record is what we think about, we've realised that recording in a studio was one of the most amazing thing on earth. We re gonna try to life good lives, and to meet more and more great people through the gigs. I feel like a hippie right now.

How was your tour of Poland? How were the people?

Charly : This country doesn't have highway : 10 hours to drive 200 kilometers, that's a fucking shame. But we have pity, and people there were lovely to us. Poznan's show was crazy as i said before, in Warsaw it was more quiet, maybe we sucked, I don't know. It was a cold night. Tyler: We've laughed so much all around europe, we've become crazy on Polish roads, we've fell in love with Berlin forever...
My big story? We had a gig in Warsaw and our "GPS" didn't work so we had to find the way to the club by ourselves. We finished in a place that was a mix of coach (bus) station and closed market (it was at night). We stopped the car, people were strange, we called the guy that promoted the gig and he said "oh guys, you're in the worst place of Warsaw, I come as fast as i can" End of the story.
